Genie Knuckle boom lifts are powerful four wheel drive and four wheel steering capable machinery which allow work to be done effectively, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which allows the user to easily calibrate the machine and its components. System diagnostics are available in various languages. On the Z-80/60 model, there are dual fuel options available. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is turbocharged, but quiet. It allows for better performance at higher altitudes. In addition, it carries more than enough torque for better grade-ability and terrain.
The 4-wheel drive ability and full-time positive traction adds enhanced traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 just offers four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular unit comprise coordinated, crab, front wheel, and rear wheel steering to give the machine extra agility. On the Z-80/60 the full-time active oscillating axle helps improve wheel contact on uneven ground. All of these features make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts smoother and easier to utilize on uneven terrain.
Although these models are bigger compared to other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features such as continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with remarkable reach and range of motion. The Z-boom design gives the models exceptional up and over positioning capability which varies from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an innovatively engineered mechanism used for both extending and retracting axles out and in of stowed position. When the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 model machinery is only 2.46 meters. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
