Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run from gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous applications. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful in order to prevent possible serious injuries. For instance: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
