Kinds of Construction Lifts or Boom Lifts
A boom lift is a piece of equipment that enables employees to perform jobs without having to build a scaffolding. They are utilized to work on elevated structures, to do maintenance work and are common equipment found in warehouse and factory environment also.
Typically, construction lifts provide powered and wheeled bases that are capable of driving to the work place and have a platform on them which is responsible for lifting workers. There are lots of various kinds of lifts and every one is suited to different types of jobs and settings.
Bucket Trucks
Bucket trucks or cherry pickers, are built with a long boom which has a bucket attached at the end. This bucket area is where an employee can stand. Usually, bucket trucks are used by landscapers and by utility workers. Landscapers usually use these types of machines to prune trees.
Every bucket truck has a boom assembly mounted to a standard truck, which allows these vehicles to move fast on normal roads. Moreover, this increases the area that this machinery can service effectively. This is especially important for power companies. Like for instance, many of these businesses use cherry pickers to elevate employees up so they can work on and reach transmission lines. The buckets have to be regularly checked and well insulated as they are working near potential shock hazards.
Articulated boom lifts are also referred to as "knuckle lifts", and consist of a work platform which is mounted on an arm that is able to bend so as to reach around obstacles. The base of the lift contains a turntable and is capable of turning the lift in a complete circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels as well for extra mobility.
Typically, the articulated boom lift is utilized for landscaping projects but is also useful for maintenance work on projects which are already completed. Projects which do not need easy access directly below the jobsite. These lifts could be utilized for exterior electrical work and to repair piping, as well as difficult to clean areas. Usually knuckle lifts are driven by the worker in the platform with the extended boom.
