Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places tidy and to store pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck comes in quite a few kinds: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The stand-up is the simplest. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are just one pallet in depth.
The double-deep reach truck is similar to the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This model has telescopic forks intended to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet needs to go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This model is best in situations where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Within the majority of warehouses, there are usually more than one type of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to operate and can make the most of available storage space while increasing productivity.
